Royalty World with a Vision for Transformation

Royalty World partnering with the Mike Yanou Foundation had announce the first ever Transformational Leadership Acedemy, which is said to start with youths at the Bolifamba community in Mile 16, Buea Southwest Region of Cameroon. This two Christian organizations have envisaged mentoring youths and adults in communities, inspiring them to build their inner man and becoming change agents in the community.

According to the Founder of Royalty World Doris Ngum, they have chosen Mile 16 to run a community transformation project. “The goal is to transform Bolifamba into an urban socio-economically flourishing community with functional families by equipping and engaging 300 transformational leaders and Entrepreneurs by 2026” she averred.

Dubbed TLA, it is an annual program and the most important event of the year. Judging from the program, 25 youths will be assembled to be coached, trained and equipped in a three day retreat as community transformation leaders.

For these 3 days they will be coached by the best business leaders, mentored by the finest coaches and sharpened in the company of like-minded youths in an inspirational and fun environment at the seaside town of Limbe. According to the Organizers, the program will cost 50,000fcfa per participant, but special scholarships will be offered to outstanding candidates. After this process, they will be released to become effective change agents in the community. Latest date for all applications is February 28th 2018, and successful candidates will be contacted after a selection interview.

Activities to conclude the Academy will see a cleanup campaign and graduation ceremony on Saturday the 24th in the Catholic Church hall Bolifamba.

Winners stand tall

Some five hundred athletes took part in the race of hope this Saturday, February 17, 2018. After several hours of racing on the mountain, the various athletes arrived at the municipal stadium of the city of Buea shortly before midday.

For the fourth time in the history of this event, Godlove Gabsibuin emerged winner of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope. He covered the 40 km distance in 4h30min 46sec. Already winner of the men’s category in 2012, 2013 and 2016, this time he broke the race’s record.

Godlove Gabsibuin was followed by Faï Elvis Ndzedzeni (4:38:20) and Kenyan runner Chelimo Luka (4:40).

In the women’s category, Carine Tata emerged winner of the race in 5h 26 min 54 sec.

She was followed by Yvonne Ngwaya, 2nd (5h 27 min), and Tanyi Wingo Immaculate in 3rd position with 5:28:23.

In the juniors, the first woman to cross the finish line was Fonyuy Larrisa of the Destiny Club, and Saidou Souleymanou of the North West region in the men’s category.

This edition of the race was run under high security given the current tensions in the two-English Speaking regions of the country.
